Explore Theros Beyond Death and follow Elspeth as she escapes the underworld in Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories – Elspeth. The previously unpublished story from Theros Beyond Death is being presented by Dark Horse Comics and Wizards of the Coast.

The four-issue series is written by Dan Watters (Cyberpunk 2077: Psycho Squad), illustrated by Owen Gieni (Manifest Destiny), and colored by Hilary Jenkins (Hairball). It is being collected in a paperback volume for the first time and arrives in June 2026.

“Elspeth is dead. But her story is not yet over. The sun god Heliod, having grown envious of his champion, struck her down to the underworld. There, she is forced to relive the worst moments of her life for all eternity. But Elspeth does not submit to despair – she emerges from each conflict a greater hero than before. And for a great hero like Elspeth, what is death but another challenge to overcome?” per the synopsis

The 112-page graphic novel will include a sketchbook section and cover art gallery. It will arrive in comic shops on June 17.
