My Little Pony Comics Head to BOOM! Studios in 2026
Friendship is magic between BOOM! Studios and Hasbro. The comic publisher has acquired the rights to publish My Little Pony comics from the gaming, IP, and toy company.
“At its core, My Little Pony has always been about the power of storytelling – stories that inspire friendship, kindness, and confidence across generations,” said Marianne James, Senior Vice President of Global Licensing at Hasbro. “Together with BOOM! Studios, we’re building on that legacy with new tales that celebrate everything fans have loved about the brand and invite new readers everywhere to share in its magic.”
The new My Little Pony comics at BOOM! will begin in late 2026. Prior to that, BOOM! will offer a collection of previous runs of My Little Pony comics in a Kickstarter campaign that starts in early 2026. BOOM! is currently running a campaign featuring a collection of Jem and the Holograms comics.

My Little Pony began as Hasbro’s My Pretty Pony toy line in 1981. A year later, they were rebranded to the now more familiar name, and redesigned with colorful bodies and manes, and a unique symbol on their sides. That line was a major success for Hasbro, inspiring the My Little Pony animated series that began in ’86, with multiple animated shows and movies released in the years since. Starting in 2012, the ponies starred in ongoing comic series, crossovers, and limited series at IDW.
“Since 1982, My Little Pony has been a brand synonymous with friendship and adventure,” BOOM! Publisher Michael Kelly said. “Creating new adventures for the Mane 6 within the Friendship is Magic continuity is as exciting for all of us here as it will be for the fans.”
