ComicConnect to Display Al Plastino’s Drawing Table at NYCC
ComicConnect is going to New York Comic Con at the Javits Center in Manhattan on October 9-12, 2025, and they are taking a piece of comics history to raise money for charity.
ComicConnect President Vincent Zurzolo and top staffers will be in booth #3535 with the original drawing table used by prolific comic creator Al Plastino. This acclaimed artist first joined DC in 1948, and would go on to define the look of Superman and other beloved characters through the late ‘60s while working on Action Comics, Superman, Adventure Comics, and more.
Plastino spent those years working from his Long Island home at a vintage drawing table that he kept until his death at 91 in 2013. ComicConnect is now offering this pop culture artifact and Plastino’s antique chair in the auction house’s upcoming Event Auction 64.
But first, ComicConnect and the industry’s top creatives will team up at New York Comic Con to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
NYCC always brings in an array of comic artists, with many of these big names agreeing to pay homage to Plastino by working at his drawing table. These top talents will be producing original art throughout the convention. The pieces will then be sold during ComicConnect’s Event Auction 64, with all proceeds going to St. Jude’s Hospital.
The Al Plastino St. Jude’s Charity Sketch-a-thon is at ComicConnect’s booth throughout the weekend of New York Comic Con.
