
Sci-Fi Worlds of Juan Giménez Graphic Novel Set on Kickstarter
Four science fiction graphic novels illustrated by Juan Giménez are now available in a box set from Alien Books. The Sci-Fi Worlds of Juan Giménez graphic novel box set featuring Gangrene, War III, Mutant, and Black Star is seeking backers on Kickstarter.
Giménez was an Argentinean artist and writer who specialized in science fiction titles like The Metabarons. He was known for the fine details he put into illustrated sci-fi elements like gadgetry and machinery.
Black Star, written by Ricardo Barreiro, follows two men in adventures through the galaxy as one is pursued by imperial guards.
Gangrene by Carlos Trillo is a tale of class distinction as people try to survive a world overflowing with garbage while the rich live in the clouds above.
The War III anthology is written by Ricardo Barreiro and presents stories about how machines affect conflict in the distant future.
Mutant, written and illustrated by Giménez, is an anthology that Alien Books describes as “realities beyond any limit.”
The books will be produced in oversized softcover format (8-1/2” wide and 11” tall) with square bound spine and matte glossy paper. All four books feature cover at by Giménez, and the collection will be packaged in a special deluxe box set.
The pledge levels start at $49 for the box set and complementary digital copies. The box set with variant covers is $89, and the box set plus variants and prints is $109. Alien Books is also offering retailer bundles.
The Sci-Fi Worlds of Juan Giménez has crushed its goal of $5,000 (at press time it was at nearly $55,000). The Kickstarter campaign runs until October 1, 2025.
