Title: “A Blaze of Glory!”
Synopsis: Jonah Hex saves a young girl from a gang of robbers before disappearing in a literal flash.

Review: Few characters are as connected to the Bronze Age as Jonah Hex. Debuting at the dawn of that era, the character’s titular series came to an end in 1985. Throughout its run, it stood as an anomaly: a traditional Western in a time when readers had moved on from the genre. This issue does nothing to bring latecomers up to speed. None of the characters are properly introduced or given context. Gray Morrow serves up some stylish art, but the younger female characters don’t look period appropriate. Then it’s all over in a flash. Literally.

Grade: C+

Cool factor: That’s a striking cover for this final issue…|
Not-so-cool factor: …but it has nothing to do with the story.
