Baltimore Comic-Con Announces International Guests

Baltimore Comic-Con will be held on October 17-19, 2025, at the Baltimore Convention Center in the city’s Inner Harbor. The show has added a group of international guests to the con, including Alan Davis, Mike Krome, Joshua Middleton, Declan Shalvey, Zoe Thorogood, and Dan Watters.

Davis began providing art as a part-time hobby that turned into a full-time job. His first professional work was in Captain Britain in 1981, then he worked on Marvelman, Harry Twenty on the High Rock for 2000AD, then D.R. and Quinch. In ’85 he started working on US comics in Batman and the Outsiders, Detective Comics, X-Annuals, Excalibur, and Wolverine: Bloodlust. He’s worked on JLA: The Nail, Fantastic Four, Superboy’s Legion, Avengers, and Killraven. He has also had runs on Thor, Captain America, Wolverine, Savage Hulk, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Krome has worked in a variety of media such as games, magazines, children’s books, film, and comics. He is currently a cover artist for Dynamite, Valiant, Coffin Comics, Zenescope, Image, Aspen Comics, IDW, and other publishers.

Middleton has been a comic artist since 1999, providing illustrations for most major publishers as well as animation and film design. He had a long run doing the art for Superman/Shazam: First Thunder, and he has been a prominent cover artist for DC, including notable runs on Aquaman and Batgirl.

Shalvey is an artist-writer known for Moon Knight, Thundercats, and Terminator. He has worked on titles like AlienBatmanDeadpool vs. Old Man LoganImmortal Hulk, and X-Men Unlimited. He has also developed creator owned projects like Injection, Savage TownBog BodiesTime Before Time, and Old Dog.

Thorogood is a creator and concept artist who debuted in 2020 with The Impending Blindness of Billie Scott. She followed that by illustrating Haha, Joe Hill’s Rain, and It’s Lonely at the Centre of the Earth, the last of which earned her six Eisner nominations. Recently she worked on Creepshow, Hack/Slash: Back to School, and Life is Strange: Forget-Me-Not.

Watters is a writer who released Limbo, his first graphic novel, in 2016. He worked on the relaunch of Lucifer for the Sandman universe, followed by work on Action ComicsDetective ComicsArkham City, and Sword of Azrael. He has co-created titles like Coffin Bound, The Seasons Have Teeth, and Home Sick Pilots. More recently he wrote Batman: Dark Patterns, Nightwing, Doctor Who, Magic: The Gathering, and The Six Fingers.

“And really, this is just a smattering of our international talent this year,” Baltimore Comic-Con show promoter Marc Nathan said. “Many of these are first time appearances for the guests, or one of very few US appearances, so we are thrilled to have everyone featured here, as well as so many already-announced names like Eddy Barrows, Garth Ennis, Mark Buckingham, Dani, David Finch, Tula Lotay, etc. etc.! Fans won’t want to miss this amazing opportunity to meet creators they might not otherwise have the chance to without traveling overseas!”
