
In Memoriam: Loni Anderson
Actress Loni Anderson, known for WKRP in Cincinnati, died on August 3, 2025. Her passing was due to what her publicist Cheryl J. Kagan described as a “prolonged” illness. She died two days before her 80th birthday.
Anderson starred in WKRP in Cincinnati as indispensable receptionist Jennifer Marlowe. She starred in all four seasons from 1978 to ’82, receiving three Golden Globe nominations and two Emmy nods for the series.

She was born on August 5, 1945, in Saint Paul, Minnesota and grew up in Roseville. Her onscreen debut was in 1975 in episodes of S.W.A.T., The Invisible Man, Phyllis, and Police Woman. She appeared in Barnaby Jones, The Bob Newhart Show, The Incredible Hulk, The Love Boat, and she played Jayne Mansfield in The Jayne Mansfield Story TV movie.
After WKRP in Cincinnati, she starred in Stroker Ace with future husband Burt Reynolds, the short-lived series Partners in Crime with Lynda Carter, and the series Easy Street. She voiced Blondie in Blondie & Dagwood animated shorts, voiced Flo in All Dogs Go to Heaven, and starred in the Nurses TV series.
Anderson was in episodes of Melrose Place, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, the Clueless TV show, she was in A Night at the Roxbury, and appeared in So Notorious. Her later roles included guest starring in Baby Daddy, the TV movie Love You More, and her final role was in the 2023 TV movie Ladies of the ‘80s: A Divas Christmas.
In 1995, Anderson wrote her autobiography, My Life in Heels.
