Green Lantern Jessica Cruz
Jessica Cruz is a member of the Green Lantern Corps who is not only one of the few humans in the corps, she is also the first female human Green Lantern. She was created by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver, who had her first appearance in Green Lantern #20 (July 2013).
Her story began when Jessica and friends were on a hunting trip and they found two men who were burying a body. The men killed her friends to cover their crime, but Jessica got away. She was traumatized by what happened and that strong emotion caught the attention of the Ring of Volthoom (which feeds on fear), and it forced her to wield it.

She met Batman who helped her face her fears, then Hal Jordan taught Jessica how to control the ring. Grail, Darkseid’s daughter, attacked Jessica and used the ring to open a portal to Earth-Three so that she could summon the Anti-Monitor. When Volthoom possessed Jessica, she sacrificed herself to the soul-reaping Black Racer to stop it. Instead of taking her soul, Volthoom was killed, and it destroyed the ring. Recognizing this act of bravery, a Green Lantern ring appeared, and Jessica became a Green Lantern.
Soon after, Jessica met fellow Green Lantern Simon Baz who was investigating a Manhunter incident. It didn’t take long for them to discover that the entire event was a training exercise orchestrated by Hal Jordan. Once they completed the task, Hal instructed Jessica and Simon to work together and invited them to join the Justice League.

At one point, she obtained the Phantom Ring with the power to channel the whole emotional spectrum, and she sued it to heal from her past trauma. She spent some time training with Guy Gardner, who bullied her in the process until she defeated him in combat.
She was assigned to monitor the Ghost Sector, a group of planets that had been stolen by Coluans and since were recovered. When Cyborg, Starfire, and Azrael attempted to enter the sector she tried to stop them, and they all became trapped inside the Ghost Sector. Since they were stuck there, the group joined forces to investigate the strange section of space as Justice League Odyssey.
