Alien Books Announces New Projects, Reveals New Logo
Ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, Alien Books has revealed their new logo and projects slated for release in 2026. This includes the Badducks manga series by Toryumon Takeda and a new X-O Gold anthology series, plus previously announced books like Valiant Beyond and a new Zorro series.
“It’s been an exceptionally busy year here at Alien Books,” Director/Editor-in-Chief Matias Timarchi said. “From beginning our new partnership with IDW Publishing, to launching multiple successful crowdfunding projects on Kickstarter, teaming up with Zorro Productions, and continuing the revitalization of Valiant Comics with DMG Entertainment, we’ve grown fast and are reaching more readers than ever before. And we’re not stopping anytime soon!”

Badducks is a manga described as “a fantasy story with sci-fi elements.” It follows Morgan Gray after he sold his organs to pay his debts and has undergone an experiment to become a cyborg. While being forced to work for the mob, he meets a desperate woman named Lisa and the pair go on the run with a briefcase filled with money and a baby. Badducks Vol. 1 will be in comic shops in the fall of 2026 as part of Alien’s publishing partnership with IDW.
The next Alien Books and Valiant collaboration will star Aric of Dacia in X-O Manowar: Black, White & Gold on Kickstarter. The publication will feature new stories from all eras of Valiant Comics, created by Shintaro Kago, Marc Guggenheim, Kevin Roditeli, Sylvain Runberg, Roberto Meli, Adriano Barone, Luca Blengino, Mike Baron, Alex Segura, Diego Agrimbau, Sean Lewis, Dan Abnett, Peter Milligan, Louis Southard, Derek Fridolfs, A.J. Ampadu, and others.

Exclusive add-ons for the project include X-O Manowar #0 Artist’s Edition and X-O Manowar #1 Facsimile Edition. This Kickstarter campaign follows Alien’s recent crowdfunding successes like Zorro Remastered Edition and Harbinger Classic Omnibus.
The updated Alien Books logo will appear on the first issues of the Valiant Beyond series, Bloodshot and Tales of the Shadowman that arrive in comic shops in August.

“I’m a big fan of The X-Files and the glitchy VHS aesthetic of the ‘80s and ‘90s,” Timarchi said. “I wanted our logo to be something that calls back to an earlier era of media, where people still valued physical goods and shared them with friends. It’s not a play for nostalgia as much as it’s a desire to stick out in a sea of overly polished and sterile logos that are everywhere these days.”
Timarchi also teased a crossover project that will see one of Valiant’s main characters against someone from a fighting game franchise. Fans can learn more about Alien Books and Valiant Comics at San Diego Comic-Con by picking up a copy of Valiant Beyond Preview Edition Ashcan from the IDW booth #2729.
