Hake’s is entering the final week of their premier Auction #244, which contains over 1,560 lots of collectibles. From rare baseball cards to comic books to campaign material, there is something for every type of collector. That includes an impressive selection of action figures, vehicles, and playsets from popular 1980s toy lines and beyond.

The Masters of the Universe Battle for Eternia Series 2 gift set AFA 60 contains figures of Skeletor and Man-E-Faces with a Panthor mount. This is the first release of this gift set, featuring the original version of Skeletor (the second release featured Battle Armor Skeletor) and showcases box header art by William Garland. One of the rarest and most desirable boxed Masters of the Universe pieces, this is the first time that a first release version has been offered at auction. At the time of cataloging, it is one of only two examples graded by AFA.

The Masters of the Universe action figures includes the bilingual Les Maitres De L’Univers He-Man Series 1 8-back AFA 60. It is the Canadian issue with partial Takara sticker on the back and comes with the French Canadian mini-comic (one of only three graded by AFA). The Grizzlor Series 4 / Evil Horde AFA 85 is the rare variant dark face variety and comes with the Grizzlor: The Legend Comes Alive mini-comic (one of two AFA graded examples).

There are several key Transformers toys in the auction, such as the Transformers Trypticon Series 3 AFA 80 Q-NM Decepticon Dinosaur/City/Battle Station. It has a transforming mini-car Full-Tilt (who forms Trypticon’s chest plate) and the tank Burnt (who is formed from city mode towers and other pieces). The toy was released in two varieties – the first without a mini-poster, while the second had a glow in the dark mini-poster – this example is the rarer first release version. Only four non-poster examples have been graded by AFA, according to their population report, and this is the first time the first release Trypticon has ever been offered at auction.

The Transformers Scorponok Series 4 AFA 80 is the Headmaster Decepticon Base and comes with a Lord Zarak Nebulan figure. This is the first release version with error text on the back and is one of the largest Decepticons produced for Series 4. Only three examples are graded higher, per AFA’s population report.

The Transformers Headmaster – Fortress Maximus Series 4 AFA 75 Autobot Robot/City/Battle Station features Cerebros transforming into the head of the fortress and Spike turning into the head of Cerebros. It is the largest G1 Transformer released by Hasbro during the toy line’s original run.

Rarities continue with The Dark Crystal Kira mock-up sample AFA 70, which was a planned line of figures based on Jim Henson’s movie, but never brought into production. This prototype action figure with Fizzgig and Crystal Piece #1 accessory pieces and was constructed as a mock-up sales sample prior to the line’s cancellation.

Hake’s is offering a Panosh Place Voltron – Defender of the Universe gift set AFA 75+ with figures of Pidge, Lance, Hunk, Keith, and Princess Allura. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys are led by Undercover Donatello Series 7 97-back AFA 80+ with yellow accessories and the Sewer Sub Series 4 vehicle AFA 80+ windup Sewer Sea Submersible (one of two in-grade with none higher). The superhero toys include Mego World’s Greatest Super-Heroes Robin figure on Kresge card with the rare catalog (single highest graded).

Bidding in Hake’s Auction #244 closes next week on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 29-30, 2025.
