Erica Slaughter’s popular companion story is being collected for the first time in Something is Killing the Children: A Monster Hunter Walks into a Bar. The one-shot story by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera was originally serialized in six parts in the horror anthology series, Hello Darkness.

It follows Erica Slaughter as she travels through different towns in her ongoing hunt for monsters. Exploring the impact of the monster hunter, the story is told from the perspective of the people that Erica has saved.

Something is Killing the Children: A Monster Hunter Walks into a Bar #1 features a main cover by Dell’Edera with variant covers by Ben Stenback, Jenny Frison, and Puppeteer Lee. It will arrive in comic shops on October 8, 2025.
