Red Sonja is slashing her way into San Diego Comic-Con with a panel on the upcoming movie. The cast and crew will share some behind the scenes information like major moments in the movie and talk about bringing the comic hero to the big screen. The panel will take place on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 5:30 PM in Ballroom 20.

Sonja actress Matilda Lutz will be at the panel, along with Robert Sheehan, who is playing Dragan, and Martyn Ford, who stars as General Karlak. They will be joined by film producer Mark Canton (300) and Dynamite CEO, Publisher, and Executive Producer Nick Barrucci. Red Sonja president, executive editor, and film producer Luke Lieberman will lead the conversation as they discuss her five decades in comics and the upcoming movie from director M.J. Bassett, writer Tasha Huo, Millenium Media, and Samuel Goldwyn Films.

Making things even more exciting, the Red Sonja crew will give away the prop sword used for the poster to a fan at the panel.

“Red Sonja has been one of the biggest crown jewels of the Dynamite pantheon of comics and collectibles for over 20 years,” Barrucci said. “Working with Luke Lieberman has been a blast, and now connecting with all the brilliant minds around this film has been a joy. We can’t wait for fans to see the movie, and check out some of the incredible tales in her source material too, including major projects we’re cooking up through the rest of this year and beyond!”

New comics starring Red Sonja are also on the way, including Sonja Reborn by Christopher Priest (Black Panther). “The series casts a young woman pulled from our real, modern world and metaphysically puts her in the boots of the She-Devil with a Sword, in a journey to try and survive the harsh realities of the Hyborean Age,” per Dynamite’s description.

Red Sonja will arrive in theaters on August 15, and the first issue of Sonja Reborn will be released in late August.
