Inside the Guide: Official Adventures of Batman & Robin Records
As part of 1966’s Batmania, two record sets were produced with multiple adventures for the Dynamic Duo. The first offering, The Official Adventures of Batman & Robin, began with “The Legend of Batman and Robin” telling the story of how Bruce and Dick met, why they became crimefighters, and how Batman created his disguise and weapons. Next up is “The Penguin’s Plunder” with Batman and Robin taking to the skies to stop Penguin from committing a major robbery. The record closes with “The Joker’s Revenge” as the Clown Prince of Crime plots revenge against Batman and Robin. This recording featured the voices of Jackson Beck, Jack Curtis, Ron Liss, George Petrie, Dan Ocko, Ian Martin, and Barbara Louis.
The story continued in More Official Adventures of Batman & Robin, containing three more episodes. This one began with “When Batman Became a Coward,” about Batman ending his crimefighting career because he was under the influence of a mad scientist. In “The Fake Boy Wonder” a boy learns Batman’s identity and blackmails him into letting him be Robin. In the last story, “The Marriage of Batman & Batwoman” Batman heads to the altar, which brings a strange problem that could end his career. The voice cast includes Beck, Liss, Martin, Ocko, Petrie, Sidney Paul, and Bryna Wilson.
