The complete Harbinger comic series by Jim Shooter, David Lapham, Maurice Fontenot, Kevin VanHook, and others is being collected in a hardcover omnibus edition. Harbinger Classic Omnibus is being published by Alien Books in partnership with Valiant Comics and IDW Publishing and is now open for backing on Kickstarter.

Created by Shooter and Lapham, Harbinger began a new world of superheroes and mythos under burgeoning publisher, Valiant.

“Follow the story of Peter Stanchek and his band of teenage runaways, harbingers of a new age, born with the power to change the world… or break it. Plagued by emerging psionic powers he hardly understands, Peter turns to Toyo Harada and his Harbinger Foundation, an organization dedicated to teaching young people like Peter. But when Peter learns to what lengths Harada will go to further his secret agenda, he turns on his mentor, gathering a group of like-minded rebels. On the road and always just one step ahead of Harada and his hit-squad of super powered Eggbreakers, these renegade harbingers will have to learn how to use their powers to change the world for the better along the way,” per the synopsis

The book is filled with 1,100 pages of stories from the original Harbinger comic book that began publication in 1992, plus special features and bonus material. It reprints Harbinger #0-41, the short story “Failsafe,” Harbinger Files #1-2, Secret Weapons #6-8, and H.A.R.D. Corps #19-20.

The project will be available to Kickstarter backers first with exclusive add-on rewards like the Harbinger #1 facsimile edition and a limited gold variant cover for Valiant Beyond: All-New Harbinger #1.

The hardcover omnibus is $119, the digital PDF version is $19, and bundles are available. The Kickstarter campaign is seeking backers now through August 8, 2025.
