Terminator #4
Dynamite; $4.99
Terminators are scary no matter where they are – but one in a submarine? Absolutely terrifying. That’s the premise in Terminator #4. It’s set in 1961 deep in the Baltic Sea where a Russian submarine is heading home with important cargo. They are under attack by a mysterious enemy vessel, and Captain Masha Alekseev does not trust the courier who brought the strange cargo onboard.
Declan Shalvey continues to ask interesting “what if” questions in this new Terminator series. For instance, what if a Terminator infiltrated the military? What if an entire crew was trapped inside a submarine with a killing machine?
Most of the comics based on the movie franchise are all about the human resistance fighting Terminators or going on missions to prevent the nuclear apocalypse. This series tells much more intimate tales where the Terminators try not to be detected, or the protagonists are not actively working for the resistance. It makes for a good anthology style series set in this world of killer machines.
