Todd McFarlane is behind the longest-running creator-owned comic in Spawn, is the co-founder of Image Comics, and creator of Spawn and Venom. His unique story is being told via a Syfy Wire documentary, which dropped its trailer this week. McFarlane also announced that it’ll air on Syfy on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 11 PM ET during Comic-Con@Home.

Todd McFarlane: Like Hell I Won’t was directed by David Oster and features interviews with Marvel CCO Joe Quesada, DC publisher and CCO Jim Lee, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, NFL player Larry Fitzgerald, and others. The trailer notes some of his major accomplishments and ways he achieved them, the bumps in the road, and shows him interacting with fans at conventions.

A charity campaign is coinciding with the documentary’s trailer drop and release this weekend. McFarlane has a sweepstakes running on GoFundMe.com with proceeds going to Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc). The sweepstakes, with prizes including signed copies of Spawn #300 and #301 and signed Spawn action figures, is open now through August 17.

In 2020, McFarlane provided the cover art for The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #50, creating a Spawn-Spider-Man crossover for the book’s Golden Anniversary. It is available for preorder in hardcover or softcover format on gemstonepub.com.
