Sony Pictures has released the first official trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, advertising the humor and madness that follows the titular antihero. The trailer previews the comedic tone of Eddie Brock and Venom’s shared body relationship, complete with a messy breakfast scene and an offer to eat someone at the local store.

Serial killer Cletus Kasady, who becomes the host of the Carnage symbiote, is given significant screen time in the trailer. He is seen in his prison cell, addressing Eddie, and at his execution – which goes terribly wrong. The trailer also teases scenes of Naomie Harris who is expected to be playing Shriek, though it hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Tom Hardy is back as Eddie Brock/Venom, Michelle Williams returns as Anne Weying, and Woody Harrelson stars as Cletus Kasady/Carnage. Venom: Let There Be Carnage is directed by Andy Serkis and is currently slated for theatrical release on September 24, 2021.
