In 2021 the US Postal Service is taking a trip to the galaxy far, far away with Star Wars Droids stamps. Star Wars features a primarily human cast, joined by alien creatures and a variety of droids who, though mechanical, often display their own personalities and emotions.

Sold as a pane of 20 stamps, they feature 10 of the popular droids from the beloved 40-plus year-old franchise. Film series stars C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8 are featured on the stamps. They also include IG-11 the bounty hunter, K-2SO who assisted the Rebels, D-O who was rescued by BB-8, L3-37 the astromech-protocol droid, a gonk droid, a 2-1B medical droid, and Chopper (C1-10P) a crewmember on The Ghost.

Greg Breeding designed the stamps and pane with William Gicker as the art director. The characters are presented in front of soft-focus backgrounds, varying in height based on each droid’s design.
