A new take on the classic murder mystery party game is heading to Renegade Game Studios. Crimes & Capers will see players taking on distinctive roles, sharing what they’ve learned, solving escape room puzzles, deciphering how to get more information, and use what they’ve discovered to solve the mystery.

The games combine the classic murder mystery game with the current escape room puzzle trend. They offer unique gameplay and approach styles, cooperative game play for groups, and the opportunity to dress up for roleplay.

The first two games for Crimes & Capers are High School Hijinks, which sends players back to high school in the ‘90s, and Lady Leona’s Last Wishes, putting players into fancy high society.

The description for High School Hijinks reads, “Welcome to 1998…. Romi’s been framed! As the senior leaders of Blair High School, you have gathered the passed notes from today to see if you can figure out who framed Romi. If you don’t figure it out, she will be expelled.”

The Lady Leona’s Last Wishes description reads, “Who gets the fortune? It’s 1919 at the Langford Estate. Lady Leona has died and absolutely no one is sad about it. She was forever threatening to write people out of her will. Now that she is finally gone, her closest family and favored servants have gathered for the reading of her will. But Leona always loved two things: Puzzles and Making Life Difficult.”

The games are made for 4-6 players, ages 12 and older. A round is estimated to take 60 minutes.

These two games are open for preorder with a summer 2021 rerelease date.
