Netflix has filled some key roles for their live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The series about a group of friends who fight to save the world from the Fire Nation has cast its Gyatso, Commander Zhao, and Uncle Iroh.

Lim Kay Siu (Nightwatch, Anna and the King) has been cast as Gyatso, the Avatar Aang’s original guardian and Air Nomad monk. Ken Leung (Lost, X-Men: The Last Stand) will play Commander Zhao, the ambitious Fire Nation commander. Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (The Mandalorian, Kim’s Convenience) is set to portray Uncle Iroh, the mentor to Prince Zuko.

The reboot of the Nickelodeon animated series has started principal photography and is scheduled to start streaming on Netflix in August 2022. The series also stars Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, and Ian Ousley as Sokka.
