Pedigree Comics’ June High Grade Marvel & DC Auction opened for bidding on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, and will last for two weeks until Wednesday, June 21 as a separate event on the Pedigree Comics website.

There is no buyer’s premium on any of the lots in the auction and almost every listing has no reserve. Every book is CGC-graded and the minimum bid is $20 for this auction. Nearly 500 lots can be viewed in the Auction Preview on Pedigree’s website under the auction banner.

There are books from a few different collections and consignments in the auction. This includes a high grade consignment of over 60 books out of South Florida that was just consigned to Pedigree CEO and President Doug Schmell this week, many more high grade Bronze Age Marvel issues from the Winnipeg Collection, a group of mid-grade Silver Age Superman titles, and a run of Silver Age Fantastic Four and Thor in mid to high grade from a consignment out of Wisconsin.

This latest batch of Winnipeg Marvel books from the 1960s and ‘70s was recently graded by CGC and represents many of the duplicate issues that Schmell has stored over the past 25-plus years, when he originally bought the collection back in 1995. There are almost 200 Winnipeg books from Alpha Flight to Worlds Unknown.
