Dynamite Entertainment; $2.99

Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti’s
second best known character (after Ash, of course), Painkiller Jane, returns in
this new series from Dynamite Entertainment, her first appearance in comic book
form in some time. The story is a slightly darker take on Jane, but it works
well because the character herself is so adaptable. The art is solid, though the
coloring is a bit too dark in places (something we’re told has already been
corrected for the next issue). While Mr. Quesada will no doubt be busy with his
“day job” as Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics, it’s nice to see the
Quesada and Palmiotti team working together again on one of their own
projects.
