Grey Flannel recently knocked it out of the park with their Spring Auction.
The event was held on May 10, 2006 and combined exceptional sports items with
currency and Americana. The final results are still coming in as Scoop
was preparing this week’s edition. Early results, especially among their
Premium Lots, look exceptional.

The hottest sport, as is fitting the
season, was baseball. Uniforms, jerseys, autographed balls and bats, anything
associated with baseball was scooped up by collectors. Mickey Mantle’s 1954
Game-Used and Autographed Home Pinstripe Jersey realized $102,487. Another
notable sale was a Babe Ruth Autographed Baseball that brought a high bid of
$24,200.

Basketball was also on the mind of collectors as Michael
Jordan’s 1992 USA Olympic Original Dream Team Game-Used and Autographed Blue
Jersey and Shorts went for $18,150. A road jersey worn by Shaquille O’Neal when
he was with the LSU Tigers in the early nineties brought $8,600.
