Stefan Petrucha, author of the X-Files comic series from the
now-defunct Topps Comics, has had is eye on the time as of late; time travel,
that is. Petrucha is also the author behind the highly-acclaimed prose novel
series TimeTripper.

The series, which tackles time travel in a
non-traditional way, stars Harry Keller, a young man who finds a way to
transcend time. After the death of his father and suffering a nervous breakdown,
Harry realizes that he has the ability to influence time through a place where
all time coexists.

“Harry doesn’t physically move to the past or
the future,” said Petrucha, “he transcends time entirely, accessing
a non-temporal state, which he dubs ‘A-Time,’ where past, present and future
exist simultaneously.”

Harry soon comes to find that, through the
help of fellow high schooler and love-interest, Siara Warner, that he has been
given this gift for a higher purpose. He also learns that “A-Time”

is also in habited by creatures (called “Quarks” and
“Glithes”) that are invisible to the linear world that we live in.
These Quirks try to alter the future, while Glitches feed off the emotional
energy of the people in the linear world.

With the upcoming release of
the third volume in the TimeTripper series, BlindSighted, Petrucha
has taken the traditional sense of time travel, which according to him has been
done to death, and alter the perception of the genre.

“TimeTripper is something different, and I’m glad to see
that so far, it’s going over great,” said Petrucha.
