“The books kids want to read.”

That is the latest from Independent
publisher Komikwerks of their new novel-based imprint, Actionopolis, and all the
feedback seems to be backing that up. The imprint, which has two new books
featured in the July edition of Diamond Comic Distributors’ Previews
catalog, publishes hardbound illustrated chapter books geared toward all-ages
readers.

The books have been receiving accolades from not only industry
leaders, but from children, teachers and parents as well. One of their books to
be feature in the latest Previews, Blackfoot Brave Society, was preview
by eighth grader from North Cache Middle School to very positive
reactions.

“I love the idea of the Actionopolis line of books in
general,” said Chris Ryall, Editor-in-Chief of IDW Publishing, “but based on[Christopher] Long and [Michael] Geiger’s fanciful appealing work on
Blackfoot Brave Society
, it’s even better in practice than it is in theory.
As a new parent, I can’t wait until my kid’s old enough to read this kind of
book.”

In addition to Blackfoot Brave Society, Actionopolis is
also releasing The Anubis Tapestry. For more information on Komikwerks and
