ACTOR Book to Raise Fan Awareness
to increase fan awareness of the organization, which raises money for aging
comic creators in need. But, the secondary goal of the book is to put a fun book
in the hands of fans, by giving them more than 150 pages of incredible art and
story.
“The goal is to create a great book that will also raise some
money for the cause,” said Jim McLauchlin, Editor-in-Chief of Top Cow
Productions and member of the Board of Directors for A.C.T.O.R. “I’m a huge
believer that things work from the ground-up, and start at the consumer level.
We absolutely, positively are happy to take any donations that come our way, but
I’m a strong believer that you should get value for your dollar. At $10 for 150+
pages of comic goodness including some great new Marvel stories, I think we hit
that target.”
The book features stories from some of the top creators in
comics, including T. Casey Brennan (Vampirella), C.B. Cebulski (Marvel
Comics editor), John Gallagher (Buzzboy), Dan Jurgens (52), Joseph
Michael Linsner (Claws, Dawn), Ron Marz (Ion), Bill Messner-Loebs
(The Maxx), Rodolfo Migliari (Star Wars Infinities), Michael Avon
Oeming (Cross Bronx, Powers), Dave Sim (Cerebus), Dave Simons
(Uncle Scrooge) and Mark Waid (52, Legion of Superheroes). In
addition, fans will get the extra treat of a story written by Stan “The Man”
Lee, who is collaborating with Linsner to tell a very interesting and spiritual
story.
For fans attending this year’s Baltimore Comic-Con, there is the
added feature of an exclusive cover by John Romita and John Romita Jr.,
appearing courtesy of A.C.T.O.R.
