The Boss beat the Beatles in the most recent auction held by It’s Only Rock
N Roll. A book of Bruce Springsteen’s 1968 lyrics to 19 songs realized $57,706.
While a Beatles Pay Receipt from the Top Ten Club in Germany signed by the
original five Beatles sold for $45,192. The event, which held over 1,200 lots of
Rock and Cultural Memorabilia, saw many of the listings break pre-auction
expectations.

While Bruce may have taken the top sot, the list of top
sellers is full of the mementos from the Fab Four. John Lennon’s Ivor Novello
Songwriting award brought $24,356. He received it in 1968 for “She’s Leaving
Home.” A promotional poster for the Beatles’ Second Album realized $23,970. A
suit worn by John Lennon in A Hard Day’s Night sold for $19,809.

There were many other highly recognizable names among the top sellers.
Items form The grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Kiss and the Rolling
Stones all attracted attention.
