Hake’s most recent auction continued in the auction house’s winning ways.
From lunch boxes to advertising items to character toys and over to political
lots, collectors found something to please almost everyone.

The varied
listings attracted plenty of new hobbyists to the event. Alex Winter, the
General Manager of Hake’s told Scoop, “We saw a tremendous upsurge in the
number of new buyers and bidders. The best part of this is what it says about
the hobby. While we have increased our mailings and eBay presence, to see this
many fresh faces, tells me that the collecting hobby is a strong place to be for
everyone.”

Last week Scoop highlighted several of the high dollar
items from the first day of the auction.. Political lots, always a Hake’s
highlight, were especially hot. You can view that article at http://scoop.diamondgalleries.com/scoop_article.asp?ai=12577&si=123.

In
addition, the second day highlights included the ultra-hot Mego figures on the
rare Kresge card. That article can be seen at http://scoop.diamondgalleries.com/scoop_article.asp?ai=12578&si=123.

This
week we would like to cover lots that we may have skipped over the first time
around. For a complete look at the entire event, please visit http://www.hakes.com/default.asp.
