This past weekend, we had the chance to sit down with Tommy Castillo to
catch up with the upcoming project this prolific artist has in the works.
Castillo’s body of work includes work on Detective Comics, Evil
Ernie and Toe Tags.

Currently, Castillo is working with Raven
Gregory on an issue of Se7en for Zenescope, a cover for an upcoming issue
of Army of Darkness for Dynamite Entertainment, and is tackling covers
for England’s Tales from the Crypt, the first artist in over 40 years.
But, all that is just the tip of the iceberg in the creative endeavors Castillo
is involved in.

Aside from his work in comics, Castillo will be working
on a motion picture with legendary director George A. Romero, with whom he
collaborated with on Toe Tags.

“We worked together on Toe
Tags for DC and after we finished that up, George just said ‘Hey, let’s make
a movie’ and it kind of just went from there,” said Castillo.

In
addition to working with Romero, Castillo will be the Assistant Direct to Sid
Haig (star of Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects) on the upcoming film
adaptation of Jack Hill’s Bubba, the Redneck Werewolf. Haig will also
being playing the title role, which means Castillo will be running the show
while Haig is on camera.
