The newest project from writer Ivan Brandon (NYC Mech) and
writer/artist Michael Avon Oeming (Red Sonja), The Cross Bronx,
takes readers into the gritty streets of the Bronx, a burrow of New York City,
to experience the real world of gang street crime.

The Cross
Bronx
, a four-issue mini-series debuting in September from Image Comics
follows the adventures of New York City detective, Rafael Aponte, as he delves
into a mysterious wave of murders gang members in the Bronx. During the
investigation, he comes into close contact with things that make him question
the afterlife, his faith in justice and his own spirituality.

“We
both [Mike and I] come at the story from completely different but complimentary
angles,” said Brandon of working with co-writer Oeming. “I think[this] lets us get more of a 360 degree view of the story environment; we’re
staking out both sides of the proverbial street from different perspectives, so
the reader gets a more intricate look from both our eyes. We’re constantly
surprising each other with nuances that maybe were invisible without the dual
collaborative perspective.”

For more information on this upcoming
mini-series, which is being offered in the July edition of Diamond Comic
Distributors’ Previews, please visit www.newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74654.
