Doug Schmell of Pedigree Comics, Inc. has just reported a number of significant sales over the past couple of months of both Marvel and DC Silver and Bronze Age books, many of the sales occurring within hours of their respective listings. The most recent example was the sale of an Amazing Spider-Man #1 CGC-certified 9.0 with white pages, which flew off the Pedigree Comics website within an hour of its listing on Saturday, September 8, 2007, for a record price of $34,000. The book came from an original owner collection out of California. Mr. Schmell purchased it from another dealer at the recent Wizard World Chicago convention.

"It was a gorgeous book with snow white pages and unreal cover gloss," said Schmell. “We listed it at a $35,000 buy-it-now price and one of my regular customers checked the site and bid $34,000, which we accepted. I could not believe it had sold within an hour of the listing.”

Other recent notable sales included many books which sold within only hour of being listed. Highlights included the following CGC-certified comics Fantastic Four #1 8.0 ($22,500), Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos #1 9.4 ($21,500), Tales of Suspense #39 9.2 ($25,000), Incredible Hulk #181 9.6 with white pages ($5,000), Batman #232 9.8 with white pages ($4,000), Batman #234 9.8 ($4,750), Incredible Hulk #181 9.8 ($18,000), Strange Tales #101 9.4 ($10,000), Amazing Spider-Man #129 9.6 ($2,800), Silver Surfer #1 9.4 ($2,000), Tales to Astonish #27 9.2 ($17,000), Flash #137 9.6 Pacific Coast pedigree ($8,500), Amazing Spider-Man #28 9.4 ($6,700), and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 9.2 ($2,500).

Pedigree Comics is listing new Marvel keys every week, recent CGC-certified offerings include including Incredible Hulk #1 8.0, Amazing Spider-Man #1 9.0, Daredevil #1 9.2,  Fantastic Four #5 9.4, Fantastic Four #1 8.5, and Amazing Spider-Man #14 9.2.
