X-Men: The Beast Statue
One of the members of the original X-Men team, Henry McCoy possesses mutant abilities that include superhuman strength, agility, and dexterity. Despite his code name Beast, he was still quite human in appearance. But one day, that changed forever.
Reacting to an upsurge in anti-mutant sentiment, the original X-Men chose to disband and go underground. A trained biochemist with genius-level IQ, McCoy went to work in the research department of the Brand Corporation. In his off-hours, he continued working in the lab, delving into the genetic basis for mutation.
Then, he made a breakthrough discovery, isolating a trigger that induced temporary (and reversible) mutation. In an attempt to foil a break-in at his lab one night, McCoy used the genetic extract on himself as a means of disguising his appearance. Unfortunately, he waited too long to reverse the supplemental mutation, and found himself trapped permanently in a more bestial and fur-covered body.
The Beast X-Men Version statue from Bowen Designs was sculpted by Erick Sosa, with an assist by Randy Bowen, and is produced in a limited edition of 1,200. Also pending is a variant “Avengers Version”, depicting the Beast as he appeared during his tenure as a member of the Avengers team.
