We’re on The Move!
Early next week, Diamond International Galleries, Hake’s Americana and Collectibles and Gemstone Publishing will officially make the move from Timonium, MD to York, PA. Don’t worry, we will still be bringing you the best from The Official Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide, Disney Comics, and more, including, of course, Scoop!
Everyone here at Scoop is excited about bringing our enthusiasm for the history of pop culture to such a historic part of the country. You may not be aware that York served as the capital of the United States from 1777-1778, when the capital was moved to Philadelphia, PA. And while you may think Thanksgiving began at Plymouth Rock, the official national holiday wasn’t declared until 1777, in where else? York, PA! Some other very interesting things about York and Pennsylvania are…
·Betsy Ross made the first American flag in Philadelphia.
·The first all-motion Picture Theatre –The Nickelodeon – opened in 1905 in Pittsburgh.
·The first daily newspaper – the Pennsylvania Packet – was published in Philadelphia on September 21, 1784.
·The first Slinky was created in Hollidaysburg, PA in 1948.
·Pennsylvania means “Penn’s Woods.”
·The state motto is “Virtue, Liberty and Independence.”
·Pennsylvania is the first state of the fifty United States to list their web site URL (http://www.state.pa.us/) on a license plate.
We only hope that we can contribute to the rich history of this area. We are also looking forward to being closer to our sister company, Morphy Auctions, located in Denver, PA. If you are ever in the York area, be sure to stop by and visit at 3679 Concord Road, York, PA 17402!
Oh, and don’t forget to update your address book! The new mailing address for Diamond International Galleries, Gemstone Publishing and Hake’s Americana and Collectibles is:
Geppi’s Entertainment – Auctions and Publications
P.O. Box 12001
York, PA17402
You can still reach us at our toll-free number, 888-375-9800.
