DC Comics; $2.99

As we’ve mentioned, this is a great period for westerns. One of the top pleasant surprises of the last few months has been Bat Lash, the six-issue mini-series from DC Comics. In the first issue, writers Sergio Aragones and Peter Brandvold, interior artist John Severin and cover artist Walter Simonson turned Bat Lash into a must read for western fans, and they haven’t slowed down since. The story is great, and the art from Severin (a veteran of EC’s Two-Fisted Tales more than five decades ago) is detailed and evocative. If you missed the first two, go get ’em, then get this one!
