Top Cow Productions has announced that the first issue of their crossover mini-series The Darkness/Pitt, which sold out at the distributor level, is now available free of charge on comiXology’s Comic store-library-reader application for the iPhone beginning Wednesday, September 9, 2009. The issue will also be available in its entirety on comiXology.com.

According to Filip Sablik, Publisher of Top Cow, this series marks the first reunion of wrtier Paul Jenkins (Captain America: Theater of War) and Pitt creator and artist Dale Keown since their run on The Darkness in 2002. It also marks the first new Pitt series in a decade.

The second issue of the series is due in comic shops on September 23.
