Tyler Perry Tops Box Office Yet Again
Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself was the number one movie of the weekend at American movie theaters. At $24 million, the Atlanta-based director’s fifth number one in five years wasn’t even close to his best opening ever, but it was sufficient to give him that impressive record.
According to BoxOfficeMojo.com, it was followed by the animated feature 9 ($10,856,000), Inglorious Basterds ($6,546,000), All About Steve ($5.8 million), and The Final Destination ($5.5 million) to round out the top five.
Whiteout, based on the Oni Press graphic novel by Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber, placed seventh, with a reported take of $5.1 million.
