The second CGC Grading Contest was held at Wizard’s Chicago Comic Con over the weekend of August 6-9, 2009 and the results are in: First place goes to Heritage Auction Galleries’ Barry Sandoval with a score of 87.5 (2.92 per book). Michael Lindquist placed second with a score of 100.0 (3.33 per book), and Mike Strahan placed third with a score of 105.5 (3.52 per book).

As covered in our Industry News section of this edition of Scoop, Matt Nelson of Classics Incorporated, Richard Evans of Bedrock City Comics, and George Pantela of GPanalysis.com will be hosting the third grading contest in October at the Baltimore Comic Con (October 10-11) and Wizard World Big Apple show (October 16-18, 2009).
