Part I and Part II of eMoviePoster.com’s Winter Mini/Major Auction are now underway. There 491 linen-backed items in Part I and 206 addition pieces in Part II of the event.

Among the top features in Part I are a set of classics from director Alfred Hitchcock, including Psycho (Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins), Vertigo (artwork by Saul Bass), the 1962 reissue of Rear Window (Jimmy Stewart) and the German 1972 reissue of Psycho with art of Perkins by Rolf Goetze.

Other classics at the top of most lists include The 1956 reissue of The Third Man (Orson Welles and Joseph Cotton), The Ghost & Mrs. Muir (Gene Tierney, Rex Harrison, and George Sanders), Breakfast At Tiffany’s (classic artwork of Audrey Hepburn), The African Queen (Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn) and the advance one-sheet from Bullitt (Steve McQueen).

For series fans there are two offerings of Sean Connery as Ian Fleming’s James Bond, Agent 007, Dr. No and Thunderball, the later of which features art by Robert McGinnis, as well as two versions of the original Star Wars, the Tom Jung-illustrated one for 1977 and a Russian release measuring 22” x 34” from 1990.

Also in the line-up are a diverse selection of high profile films including The Beatles in A Hard Day’s Night, Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke, Rita Hayworth in the Belgian issue of Gilda, the Belgian release of George Pal’s film of H.G. Wells’ War Of The Worlds, the 1943 reissue of Walt Disney’s Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs, the 30” x 40” version of Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye in White Christmas, and William Holden and Ernest Borgnine in Sam Peckinpah’s The Wild Bunch.

Lined up for Part I as well are Bar 20 Justice (1938, William Boyd as Hopalong Cassidy), Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver (Robert De Niro), Snookums Disappears (1927, George McManus’ newlyweds and their baby), Frank Capra’s Meet John Doe (Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck), Rasputin & The Empress (Belgian, 1932, John, Ethel and Lionel Barrymore), The Band Wagon (Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse), My Fair Lady (German, 1964, Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison by Rolf Goetze), The Hustler (Paul Newman, Jackie Gleason, and Piper Laurie), Rebel Without A Cause (James Dean).

Among the features are Once Upon A Honeymoon (Ginger Rogers and Cary Grant), Funny Face (Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire), 2001: A Space Odyssey (Cinerama, with art  by Bob McCall), Black Gold (1927, Norman Studios all-black oil field epic), Flying Ace (1926 all-black aviation thriller), and The Outlaw Josey Wales (Clint Eastwood).

From last week’s auctions, three of the noteworthy folded one-sheets included Alfred Hitchcock’s Lifeboat ($3,700), Paul Muni in The Life Of Emile Zola ($815, despite its lesser condition, and the Style B version of John Ford’s How Green Was My Valley ($755).
