Yes, but is it art? The answer could very well be in the affirmative if you’re talking about this weekend’s Sunday Internet Comic Auction at Heritage Auction Galleries. The auction, which closes Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 10 PM CST, includes 49 pieces of original comic strip art this week from a variety of titles and periods.

This week’s sale also has 25 lots featuring Superman in Action Comics, and there are 18 lots of Adventure Comics to spice things up for DC collectors, and they’re part of the total of 762 offered this week.

Other highlights include The Brave and the Bold #2 CGC 6.5, The Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 9, Pussycat #1 GD/VG, Dick Ayers’s original art for The Original Shield #4 page 3, Howard Chaykin’s original art for Men of War #19 Enemy Ace page 3, a Creig Flessel Sandman illustration, the Wilson McCoy original daily for The Phantom dated 8-12-60, the Mickey Mouse Sunday page dated 8-31-80, an early Chic Young Blondie daily dated 11-28-32, and a Facts About Code-Approved Comics Magazines booklet FN/VF.
