There are almost 200 lots of great comic art in this auction, Cochran told Scoop. They include Frazetta’s pencil preliminary for Svengali letterhead (circa 1970), an original oil painting of a woman, and Pilate and Barabbas from “Give Us Barabbas” (1969) among a total of 18 Frazetta lots.

Also on the docket are George Herriman’s Krazy Kat Sunday page dated February 19, 1922, Hal Foster’s Tarzan Sunday page dated July 10, 1932, and Foster’s Prince Valiant Sunday page dated March 20, 1937.

And the auction is nothing if not unique: check out the original acrylic painting by Tarzan’s chimp friend Cheeta!
