Long Island Collection Debuts at Pedigree
“The consignments are continuing to come in for our upcoming January 2013 Grand Auction,” said Pedigree Comics President and CEO Doug Schmell. The event is scheduled to kick off on the night of Monday, January 14, 2013 and last for 10 days until the night of Thursday, January 24.
Pedigree has received the CGC grades on the recently consigned collection of almost 100 high grade Marvel and DC issues from Long Island, New York.
“The books were just graded last week and are being inventoried, scanned and uploaded onto the Grand Auction Preview right now. The majority of the books are 9.4 and higher with outstanding page quality,” he said.

As usual, Schmell said the auction will have a few hundred choice, high grade, CGC-certified Marvels and DCs from the Silver and Bronze Ages plus many other genres and publishers.
“Please check the Pedigree Comics website, this space and the CGC boards next week, Friday, January 11, for the latest news and additions to the January Grand Auction, including the grades of the over 30 Silver Age DCs from the Long Island Collection that are currently at CGC awaiting certification.,” he said.
There is no buyer’s premium on any of the lots in the auction and most of the lots will have no reserve. Every issue is CGC-certified and the minimum bid is $100.

Pedigree will continue to accept consignments for the auction until midnight on Thursday, January 17.
