Josh Brolin has joined the cast of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, in which he’ll play the role of Dwight, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog. Dwight was portrayed by Clive Owen in the first film. Brolin joins returning cast members Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Jaime King and Rosario Dawson, as well as the recently cast Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Brolin is not the only announced replacement in this sequel. Jamie Chung has replaced Devon Aoki, and Dennis Haysbert has taken over for the late Michael Clarke Duncan.

“Dwight is a constant character throughout the Sin City world, and A Dame to Kill For is a defining episode in his life. We’re looking forward to Josh’s take on Dwight,” co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller said in a statement.

According to THR, the role of Ava hasn’t been cast. Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is due in theaters October 4, 2013.
