Who are the individuals who have made great contributions to the comic book arts? Who are the writers, artists, editors, publishers and others who have plied their craft in insightful ways? The Overstreet Hall of Fame, which spotlights many such creators and leading figures, is featured in The Overstreet Guide To Collecting Comics.

Boleslav Felix Robert “Bill” Sienkiewicz is best known for his dynamic style of comic book and graphic novel illustration beginning with Marvel’s Moon Knight in the pages The Hulk #13, later graduating with the character from the magazine to his own comic book series. Sienkiewicz grew up in rural New Jersey, taught himself anatomy to better his sketches, and worked construction to put himself through the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. Starting his career on Marvel Comics at the age of 19, he illustrated Moon Knight for several years, including its jump being available exclusively in the Direct Market only. Initially his work showed the strong influence of Neal Adams, but as he moved from assignment to assignment, it grew more expressionistic. It continued to evolve in the pages of New Mutants, Daredevil: Love and War (Marvel Graphic Novel #24), and Elektra: Assassin, as well as his acclaimed graphic novel Stray Toasters. He also has created advertising material, book art, CD covers, and film designs, among other projects.

– Scott Braden and J.C. Vaughn

The most recent inductees into The Overstreet Hall of Fame are featured in The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #43, which is now on sale. Those inducted up to that point are featured in The Overstreet Guide To Collecting Comics.
