The West Virginia Popular Culture Convention (WVPopCon) returns for its third annual show August 23-24, 2014 at Mylan Park, Morgantown, West Virginia. Admission is $10 daily. Children 10 and under get in free with a paying adult. Show hours will be 10 AM to 7 PM on Saturday, and 11 AM to 5 PM on Sunday. Parking is free and there will be food vendors on-site.

New York Times bestselling writer Peter David (Spider-Man 2099) leads the guest line-up, which also includes artist Khoi Pham (Cyber Force), Eisner Award-winning artist Chris Sprouse (Tom Strong), Harvey Award-winning writer Bryan J.L. Glass (The Mice Templar), and Eisner Award-nominated writer-artist Douglas Paszkiewicz (MAD).

Also attending WVPopCon will be Charleston, WV native R.J. Haddy (Face Off Season 2), screenwriter and novelist John Russo (Night Of The Living Dead), and Paul Bradford (Ghost Hunters International).

“We are thrilled for our third year of WVPopCon,” said show promoter Jon Hayes. “The show is currently over 25% bigger than last year. We have over 70 professional artists and writers attending and over 50 vendors (an increase from last year) and entertainment guests. We are very happy to have comic book publishers like Aspen Comics and Action Lab Entertainment. We look forward to welcoming collectors and pop culture enthusiasts from all over the place. We really have stepped it up this year and have a star-studded line up.”

The show will host panels on such subjects as comic creating, podcasting, movie making, and costume and zombie creation. There will be a costume contest on Sunday and general cosplaying throughout the show. There will be various tabletop, board, table and video gaming tournaments including Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer 40K, and Pokemon with prizes.
