Weekly Shonen Jump’s website announced on October 6, 2014 that the long running Naruto manga will be coming to a conclusion on November 10, when this year’s 50th issue hits the stands. Masashi Kishimoto’s shonen, or boy’s, manga series has been consistently popular since starting 15 years ago, and served as an introduction to anime and manga for many current fans.

Kishimoto has previously stated that the series would end soon and that he had an ending in mind. The story has followed the title character, Naruto Uzumaki, as he battles against his rival Sasuke Uchiha across several years and dozens of story arcs. Shueisha will be publishing the 71st volume of the manga on November 4. The series is licensed by Viz Media in America.

Naruto is one of the bestselling manga series in history, having sold more than 130 million copies in Japan alone. It has also spawned multiple animated series, films, video games, and novels. The ending is likely to make waves in the anime communities, with that issue of Shonen Jump expected to sell out and become highly collectible quickly.
