Outreach: Can You Help Katy Beerbohm?
One of the best elements of the collecting and comics industry is that it’s a community. People dialogue about character influences, get excited to share news about rare collectible finds, and reach out to each other when life deals us a difficult hand.
Veteran comics retailer, historian and Overstreet Advisor Bob Beerbohm is asking for help for his daughter Katy. She suffers from Erythema Multiforme Major, an uncommon skin condition of an unknown cause. It ranges from a mild rash to the severe form that Katy has.
Over the past year the “burn” marks are appearing all over her body causing intense pain. Medical bills are making an already terrible situation worse so the family is asking for help from anyone who can offer monetary assistance by donating at gofundme.com.
Many veteran collectors have met Katy at Bob Beerbohm’s booths at conventions since she attended her first show back in 1981 at the age of two.
“Katy’s new doctor team stated yesterday they have no idea why aspects of this continue to attack Katy with very severe pain and wounds which look like second- and third-degree burns. They have begun the referral process in to Mayo Clinic,” her father said.
