Bidding is officially open for the November 1, 2014 Vintage Guitars and Musical Instruments Signature Auction by Heritage. The lots include acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitars, banjos, mandolins, ukuleles, horns, and more. The auction commences on November 1 with two sessions that afternoon.

Amongst the oldest pieces in the auction is a 1905 Martin 00-42 Natural Acoustic Guitar. This piece has the original ivory bridge and could easily be made playable again with some minor work. C.F. Martin and Company was established in 1833 and is still headquartered where it was founded, in Nazareth, PA.

Also included is a 1954 Fender Stratocaster. The Stratocaster was introduced in 1954 and quickly became one of the most popular electric guitar models. Buddy Holly helped to popularize the instrument, as he used one on most of his recordings with The Crickets. This particular Strat contains all of the original electronics and also comes with the original hard case.
