Ten years ago in 2004 Heather Winter joined Diamond International Galleries as the Office Manager. She also worked closely with Gemstone Publishing and Hake’s Americana & Collectibles before becoming Hake’s Office Manager full time in 2009. Working for these various companies provided her the experience to work with both fellow employees and customers alike. She was born and raised in York, PA where Hake’s calls home. Winter went to William Penn Sr. High School then on to York College of Pennsylvania to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting. Prior to becoming a valued member of the Hake’s staff, she worked for JC Penney in a variety of positions.

Her new position as Operations Manager will include current duties along with overseeing the day to day operations of the facility, as well as handling customer service, and catalog production duties.

A big fan of Wonder Woman, Winter collects items that include comics and original art, German Pink Pig figurines from the turn of the 20th Century, and vintage Winnie the Pooh items. The most prized piece in her collection is a German Pink Pig that sits on a tufted chair. “I had to fight to win that one at auction and will probably always hold on to it,” Winter noted.

As for items she’d like to add to her collection, Winter hopes to obtain a high grade Sensation Comics premium button and a German Pink Pig in a Japanese submarine that she has been trying to obtain for many years.

When asked about her goals for the company, Winter responded, “To help Hake’s grow into the place for pop culture memorabilia, even more so than it is now.”
