Super Window Washers at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital
Last week on October 21, 2014 kids in the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh were given a super treat. Costumed superheroes dressed as Captain America, Batman, Thor, Superman, and Spider-Man came to the hospital to repel along the outside of the building to wash windows and say hi to the kids. Children waved to the superheroes clinging to the side of the building bringing their imaginations to life as the high flying comic book heroes soared above the streets.
Children weren’t the only ones excited by the superhero window washers. Crowds gathered inside the hospital and outside on the sidewalk snapping photos and waving to the heroes. The costumed gentlemen from Allegheny Window Cleaning lifted the spirits of the children in the hospital, many of whom are very sick.
Ed Hetrick, one of the superhero window washers, commented that it’s become a yearly event to try to bring some happiness to the kids. Since many of the children won’t be able to go Trick or Treating this will bring some of the holiday spirit to them.
