The Nemo Publishing collection has grown over the past six years since the first limited edition Mego hero Commander X to include 14 action figures. The newest additions are a Black Bat and new Sea Ghost figure that will ship in January.

The eight-inch figures are created in a retro style harkening back to the figures created by the Mego Corporation in the 1970s. The Black Bat figure was made by Jay Piscopo and Paul Clarke reworking the 1939 hero. Piscopo is the author and illustrator of The Undersea Adventures of Capt’n Eli graphic novel series, he’s also created spin-offs The Sea Ghost and Commander X All-Star Special.

“I’m a huge fan of the Black Bat,” Piscopo said. “He is an interesting character and has a fascinating place in pop culture history with Batman and Daredevil. It’s exciting to have him included on the Nemo Toys roster. His look translates into the new Mego style extremely well. I’m looking forward to offering more pulp and golden age characters like him in the future.”

Beginning Monday, January 5, 2015 and running through February 16 all action figures except for Sea Ghost will be on sale for $15 in a special online sale exclusively through www.captneli.com.
